Welcome! Are you a first time visitor to this site? Here’s the best place to start. I’m Ali, the creator of What Ali Sees.

If you’re just starting to think about taking your kids on a travel adventure, or if you feel like a failure because your last family trip was a nightmare, then this page is for you! Here you will find the information you need to plan and embark on your first (or next) family trip. You will quickly learn the art of successful family travel and be inspired to continue creating memories through learning about new people and places.

Before having a child, my husband and I used to travel often, travel was an important part of who we were…. We first met each other on the other side of the world, during an extended working holiday, and got married in a Scottish castle to begin our story the way we intended to continue – to live a life full of adventures. Our plan was to continue having these amazing travel experiences, and never settling for a ‘normal’ life. We moved back to Australia, and eventually started a family, and then somehow our lives started to become so normal. Don’t get me wrong, I value the normality and the healthy routines we have set up for our child, yet I’ve started to realise that life was beginning to own us, instead of us going out there and creating the life we intended.
